About
I began drawing the original Pete the Tuba comics around 2001, based on some doodles I had made during band practice. At the time, I was working in Microsoft Paint and I was a terrible artist. Perspective was difficult, at best, and drawing anything that didn't consist of straight lines was very time consuming. Eventually, I decided that it was too much work and gave up.
Then some time passed...
Then in 2008, I felt inspired to try drawing some of the characters from my old comic again. Surprisingly, some of my friends still remembered the old MS Paint comics, and would occasionally bring them up in conversation. I started drawing a few more characters, and eventually decided to start drawing the comic again. After nearly a decade, I am still a terrible artist, but I no longer use Microsoft Paint, which gives the illusion of vast improvement.
All of my comics are made using Inkscape, a free, open-source vector graphics program. Though I own Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash, I prefer to do my art in Inkscape.
New Comics appear on the site sporadically.
